About Land Girl

Who are we?

Land Girl was the brainchild of two good friends, Morag and Nina, who have a love of gardening and a desire to look good while doing it!

Nina is a professional garden designer who has been designing and building gardens since 2004. As well as creating many successful designs of her own, she has planted with top designers such as Andy Sturgeon and Chris Beardshaw at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Morag is a keen amateur gardener and communications expert and can spot a good idea when she sees one.

What’s the idea behind Land Girl clothes?

One day Nina vented her frustrations to Morag about the fact that she could never find anything that fitted properly or looked flattering to wear in the garden and that was how Land Girl was born.

What’s the ethos of our company?

We were very happy to come up with the name Land Girl. We are great admirers of what the Women’s Land Army did, and how it forged the way for women to see themselves in a different light. Our clothes are practical and allow women to do practical tasks but they are also specially created for a woman’s shape, allowing you to feel good while doing them.

With the growth of ‘grow your own’ and more focus on less material things, we hope our clothes will help people enjoy their gardens and allotments more.

I just got my shorts here in Tennessee in the USA! I love them! They are so comfortable!

I’ve been living in your trousers over the summer (as a professional gardener and designer) and absolutely love them. They are so comfortable - especially with the high waistband. The shape and fit feels feminine and not too baggy and the fabric is spot on - not too stiff or soft but natural and hard wearing.

Bought the dungies - worn them all day, so comfy and practical. We women gardeners are serious about our work but want to be comfortable and look good too - thank you this has now been achieved.
